Hello fellow spinners!

I thought I’d share a few songs I like to have the class stand and “attack” to.  I teach 100 minute classes on Saturdays occasionally and last Saturday I did the first 30 minutes with a few of the below songs.  The whole 1st ½ hour was standing attacks.  However, one song we would hover in between attacks, then the next we may jog, the next we may sit, etc.  The 2nd ½ hour we did nothing but jumps.  1 song we would do 10 jumps (singles mostly but no longer than 4 count) then recover in the saddle for 10 seconds and repeat until the end of the song.  The next song would be 15 jumps with 15 seconds of recovery.  Then 20 jumps, :20 recovery.  Then back to 10, then 15 and 20 again until you’ve reached ½ hour.  The last ½ hour was nothing but climbing rolling hills.  No details here really, we all know how to do those.  I like using my Hell's Hills or Mountain Trail Loop routine here.

Anyhow… here are the songs I love for “standing attacks” (AKA standing sprints) and I hope you do too.  I ONLY attack ON THE CHORUS!  There are usually 3 to 4 per song and they’re 15 to 20 seconds each.

Show Me How to Live – Audioslave

No Sleep Tonight – The Faders

Gives You Hell – The All-American Rejects

Something in your Mouth – Nickleback

Bawitabaw – Kid Rock (last chorus is 1 minute. I stand :30 and sit :30)

So What – Pink

I Like the Way You Move – Bodyrockers (my favorite)

If I Never See Your Face Again – Maroon 5 (feat. Rihanna)

Mony Mony – Billy Idol

Pain – Three Days Grace

Rollin’ – Limp Bizkit
