Super fun game that can be played using any aerobics cd...I use 130 BPM...

You'll need 20 envelopes... and 20 pieces(small but not too small..not folded) of paper that can fit into each envelope

label them using a BOLD black marker....

label the first ten envelopes 1-10

label the other ten..A-J

Write on the pieces of paper the following.........

  • :10
  • :15
  • :20
  • :25
  • :30
  • :40
  • :45
  • :50
  • :55
  • 1:00

  • seated flat
  • seated climb
  • seated sprint
  • standing flat(jog)
  • standing climb
  • standing sprint
  • Hover climb(hands in third position...bottom over saddle...aero position)
  • spin-ups (fast, faster and as fast as you can go sprints)
  • jumps
  • squats(isolated climbs...taking the bouce out)

Put a piece of paper in each envelope...the times in the numbered envelopes and the spin moves in the lettered envelopes.  Once you've made them...these envelopes can be used over and over for a quick routine that will NEVER be the same twice.

Here's how you play....get to class a little early...I spread the envelopes on the floor...letters on one side and numbers on the other.  If the people in the back can't see...just call out their choices.  I always make the first choice to let everyone know how to play.  The directions are"choose a letter and a number"...I pick up the chosen envelopes and announce to the class what we'll be doing ...just simply put the chosen letter and number together.

example.............I go first and choose C and 7....open the envelopes c and 7....let's say they said seated climb and :45...you lead the class in doing :45 second seated climbs..How many you might be thinking?......I have a rule that any time over :30 is done five times.....any time under :30 is done 10 times.   So in the example above...seated climb for :45..is done 5 times.

If we had chosen :15 /sprints...we'd do them 10 times...you choose the rests

In a big class...you'll need to get each person to choose only once envelope so that everyone gets a turn.  I hope this was not confusing...please e-mail with questions.  please try this...it's always fun and upbeat.  caroline
